buggy in_vorbis.dll in winamp 2.91
Hi there,
In winamp 2.91 in some ogg vorbis files i can hear errors/distortion at some places, which aren't present with winamp 2.81. I tried to replace the in_vorbis.dll from winamp 2.91 to the version of 2.81 and indeed the problem went away. So something is definately wrong with the new in_vorbis.dll. Can anyone confirm this bug? |

No, I can't reproduce the bug.
All my OGGs play ok, though I don't have one of yours to test with. Please confirm whether the bugs/problems still exist with this newer version (proposed for wa2.92) |

yes, the bug is still present in in_vorbis.dll for wa2.92
A good file to try it with is "wake up dead man" from U2. I encoded at quality 5 with cdex 1.50 final version. In that song there is already a distortion at minute 1:23 by default (on the CD), but with the buggy in_vorbis it's worse and makes my speakers (MS digital sound system, so no crap at all) crackle. Also at minute 2:20 when bono says the word "radio" there is a distortion (not present by default). All these "bugs" don' happen with in_vorbis from wa2.81 or when I encode in mp3 192kHz |

<AOL>me too</AOL>
Even worse, some oggs I've made (I made most with the xiph oggenc.exe from vorbistools combined with EAC) simply refuse to play back with 2.91. They play fine with 2.81.
Nice idea copying the vorbis.dll to 2.91. I might try that. Still, the current vorbis.dll definately is bad. |
