CD-ripper problem
Hello
THIS... http://home.no.net/hackass/winamp/winamp_ripper.png ...happens when im trying to rip a cd. Ive tried many different CDs - also a clean install of Winamp. I have 2.91, 2.92, and the very very latest 2.95. None of them work. *Waves for help* [Search Term: cannot open decoder --Sawg] |

Is digital audio extraction enabled & working? (in_cdda config)
Is wnaspi32.dll in your System dir? How about some system specs? pc or mobo make/model, cpu, ram, soundcard, cd-rom, windows, directx. Any 3rd-party winamp plugins installed? (gen, dsp, input, output) @m^2k cddb works fine here... |

No 3-party plugins:
Windows XP Prof. 512 DDR AMD XP 2000+ Creative SB! Live 5.1 DirectX 8.1 i think. An ASUS CD-burner Pioneer DVD-rom Can rip CDs with CDex. |

And "digital audio extraction" is enabled in
Prefs -> Plugins -> Input -> cd plugin -> config? Does the EQ and vis plugins work with audio cd's? And no other software is accessing the cd-rom at the same time? (I think I've asked before in another thread whether you're not trying to play & rip the cd at the same time) Winamp -> Prefs -> CD Ripping: Output File tab: Have you set a "destination folder"? What "filename format" is displayed? Encode tab: What settings are selected? (mode/quality) Does it work if you use LameMP3 encoder (available at winampheaven.net) Also, provide details of the version of wnaspi32.dll in the System32 dir (File -> Properties -> Version tab: description, version, date, etc) I suggest you back it up (just in case) and use the version in my attachment instead. Note: CDex is probably configured to use Native WinNT SCSI Library instead of ASPI ? |

wnaspi32.dll:
4.71.1.0 ASPI for Win32 (95/NT) DLL Copyright © 1989-2002 Adaptec, Inc. Adaptec's ASPI Layer 14.08.2002 - 16:03 digital audio extraction is Enabled, dunno if it works The EQ is not making any effect on the song while playing. Unable to download LAME-codec from WH. I have set a destination folder. OGG is the format. The recomended type is selected (VBR). Qualityfactor: 0,47 norminal bitrate: 150 kbps Phew.. |
