LOL, not much to add, it's winamp 5.04 plus JTFE latest and the important security fix, nothing much, the same Great Winamp we already had even one more step closer to perfection |

5.05 is an important security update but does it warrant a whole 0.01? =P Just updating the main page with a 4.04a should have sufficed, imho. |

The update lists exactly "fixed windows moving after changing screen resolution" which does sound automatic but does not work. It is certainly possible that these two entries in the version history were written poorly and do something entirely different from what I think. If this is the case, I wish someone who knows for a fact what those entries mean would explain them to me. In addition to that, I'd like to know if such a feature--that is, one that keeps Winamp windows from moving location to stay visible on the screen when a fullscreen application switches to a lower resolution--will be added. |

I'm not sure what that entry is supposed to mean. __________________ |

Yes, the version I used, which was the most recent as of five or six days ago, didn't seem to do anything. I have noticed something interesting, though it is unrelated to the plug-in. My resolution is set to 1152x864. If I change it to 1024x768, Winamp stays where it was so that I can only see the top-left area of it. If I change my resolution to 800x600, however, Winamp move wildly out of position, with the main window and playlist no longer positioned above and below, but partially side by side, with one window a bit lower than the other. This is the same thing that happens when I play FFXI, which has a menu before the main game that runs at 800x600. I then set the resolution to 1024x768 and put Winamp in its position at the bottom-right of the screen. Then I changed the resolution to 800x600. This time it did not move. I have come to the conclusion that Winamp will keep its position when the resolution is changed as long as it isn't completely removed from the desktop area. This makes me wonder if Winamp is actually moving itself or if Windows has some mechanism designed to keep windows from being completely removed from the screen. If the latter is the case, this mechanism must be activated when the resolution is changed only, because I know I have fooled around with VB programs which were made to move off the screen, and Windows did not move them back. |

I wonder if a patch could have been made to fix the problem without having such a large download. I'm just looking out for the guys on dail up. Maybe Winamp is trying to hide the fact that they had a security issue with their problem by having a whole new version instead of a patch? __________________ |
