Intro file plays but no stream afterwards

Hi,
I'm really baffled.
I finally recorded an intro file with the same sample rate,etc. as my music mp3s (192/44Stereo).
I put the intro192.mp3 file in the same folder as my music mp3s.

When I test the stream...
the intro file plays, and the next track shows on the player (winamp) but it doesn't play. The player doesn't
show any sound on the EQ bar display.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

JJ

PS: Also, Does it matter where the intro file is located?

Try moving the intro file to the same folder as shoutcast.

Strange. It sounds to me like you haven't encoded it with the correct settings (although you probably think you have) it might not be EXACTLY correct, i'd either try re-checking and re-encoding it, or change the stream to something different and re-encode it to match the new setting - see if that works...

I opened an mp3 from my playlist in Totalrecorder and noted that it was 192KBS/44khz/Stereo.
I then recorded a fresh mp3 voice over in Audacity with the same settings (192/44 Stereo) to match the playlist mp3s exactly.

I'll try to put the intro file (which I named Intro192.mp3)
in the root Shoutcast folder.
I'm still not sure what the instructions mean by "same channel" as it pertains to the intro and playlist mp3s.

Thanks

JJ

The intro must be the same samplerate and channels as the stream (as set in the DSP or whatever source you are using), not the mp3s in the playlist. To not fool a player, the bitrate should probably be the same as well.

channels = stereo (2) vs mono (1)
samplerate = Hz
bitrate = kbps

djSpinnerCee,
Thanks, man!!!!!!!!!
It worked.
Rechecked the intro.mp3 file and the channels didn't match.
intro=mono, stream = stereo.
Rerecorded it in Audacity and uploaded it to my server.
The server Winamp worked fine, but, when I bumped it with local SAM, I had the same prob as before.
Checked my SAM encoder and it was at 64/44 instead of 64/22. Changed that.
Now everything is working on the same page.

Excellent, man.
Thanks again....

Oh, Wavestreaming...
Thanks for your suggestion, also.
You were right as well.
