3/2006 latest download - lost Winamp raido
Just downloaded the latest version of Winamp. Can no longer access Shoutcast radio stations. What happened? All was good until the "upgrade."

Make sure you checkmarked "Online Media" under the Winamp Library section of the installer options
Then go to: Media Library > click on Online Services in the left pane, and click/checkmark Shoutcast Radio in the right pane (and any other channels of your choice), and then they'll appear in the left pane. Plain sailing from thereon... |

Ok, I did as you sugested, Egg. I looked and there was no such option, only the >preff >Online... There was no 'online services' listed. I did a reinstall and looked through the options offered, I found the online as you said and it was checked just as when I installed. This time how ever, when the install was finished there was an 'online services' on the left side. It was empty, but after clicking on it and a short 30 sec hang it did populate <AMD 64 3000 with a gig of ram, not used to lag any more>. Thanks for the info, apparently I had a bad install ontop of the confusion about the changes.

Try adding *.winamp.com and *.shoutcast.com (and possibly also *.aolcdn.com) to the Trusted site zone in IE:
Control Panel > Internet Explorer > Security The online media listings in Winamp are displayed using the IE engine, and need ActiveX and Javascript. More info: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....25#post1877525 |

Yes, perhaps some user-friendly error message would be good.
If you don't feel comfortable with other sites being able to use ActiveX/Javascript, you can always go for the Trusted Sites option. (btw, your English isn't that bad )

for me the only thing that worked was turning my IE security to medium ( sucks cause i DON'T USE IE!!!) but anyway that works. you should realy put a news item up about this on your home page or somthing in the installer. i assume you deal with smart ppl and smart people don't use IE and also have evrything on IE turned to the highest security settings. but oh well. ill do anything for free cartoons
![]() But realy, all this aside, NICE PRODUCT!!! keep up the good work ![]() gexe. |

My problem is the same as Harridan's, the Online Services Window in Media Library window remains blank (URL's, Shoutcast or otherwise play fine). This occurred after removing IE7beta2. The uninstall screwed up IE6 and all programs that (mistakenly) rely on IE to function properly, and no "repair" has worked. I've even run sfc /scannow, but that didn't fix IE6.
I then installed IE7beta3 and regained functionality in all IE parasite programs except the Winamp, Media Library, Online Services display (and using Help freezes Winamp as well). This is still the case after changing IE Internet Security to Medium. I never realized before how many programs require IE for functioning -- that's just wrong. |

No Stations Available
Good day all.
I apologize, I've looked at the FAQ, and it seems Egg'Man has the answer. I don't quite get it. I've the same problem, upgraded WinAmp and lost all the ShoutCast stuff. Do I have to re-install to get the "Installer" options or where do I go to change that ??? Many thanks, and apologies again. Just *umb *ssed I guess. Thanks |

If you can't remember whether you checkmarked 'Online Media' in the installer options, then yes: run the installer again and make sure it's checkmarked this time.
Do you see 'Online Services' in the Media Library? Good Winamp plugins by Joonas, DrO and shaneh. If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here. Last edited by siebe83; 2nd February 2007 at 07:22. |
