Oh, it stopped working again... doing a clean install helped it work for a longer period of time but then this morning I tried to open it and got the error message again. I gotta get this fixed before it drives me insane! |

Does the problem still occur when you disable the Portable Media Player plugin? It's the ml_pmp.dll file in the Winamp plugins folder (C:\Program Files\Winamp\plugins). __________________ |

You did not install any 3rd-party plugins in the meantime? __________________ |

I just upgraded to 5.2.1, and am getting the same problem. This sucks, because I didn't save a copy of the old player. |

I propose to you every time you want to upgrade your winamp to latest version you download full version of one winamp. |

Well, when I tried the lite version, I didn't get the error, but then none of the features worked, i.e. Media Library. Not sure how to fix this issue. __________________ |

I still have the suspicion that this is somehow related to the Portable Media Support plugin, but I'm not sure... __________________ |

It may indeed be something with the new update, I really ain't sure. Some users reported that disabling the Media Library (gen_ml.dll) made the problem go away, others said that just removing the Portable Media Player plugin made the crash disappear (which is why I suggested that, but apparently your crash is caused by something else). __________________ |

The last time I tried to update my graphics driver (I have Nvidia like that other person) some really weird stuff happened and now I can't play any games with 3D graphics. Gee, the more I talk about my computer, the more it sounds like I need a new one, which I pretty much refuse to get... I suppose I could try re-updating and see what happens. |

I had the same problem, but mine only happened after installing the plugin in_NSFten.dll but it has worked before. It seems to be incompatible with v5.24 for some odd reason. Yes, I had the same message as above, so it seems that I'll have to try using a different NSF plugin and see if that works. |

For solving this problem you must to eradicate winamp completely from add/remove programs in control panel or remove it in program files. __________________ |

aka: a clean install with no 3rd-party plugins (always read the sticky threads first). |
