Track skipping in Winamp 5.21

When I open a playlist containing .WMA files, the following problem MAY occur (it does not happen always):

The playlist contains lets say 15 songs. The first song plays normally and the second song starts. After playing for a few secounds Winamp suddenly skips to track 5 for not more than a secound, nothing happens (as if the song isn't there), then skips to track 9, nothing happens, then track 15 where it stops. Winamp seems to be finished playing the playlist. Somethimes Winamp starts playing track 2, then a couple of secounds into the song just skips from track 2 to 15 (not going via any other files) and starts to play track 15. When track 15 is comlete, Winamp stops playing as normal (the play list is then completet), but of cource it has not played more than 2 of the 15 song. When I see that Winamp is skipping tracks, I can double click on the next track Winamp should have played, and then the track is playing perfectly. Also after the two or three secounds where it normally skip. After that the playlist may, or may not play normally.

I've had Winamp for a long time, but never had this kind of problem. Any suggestions?

I have a laptop from Dell, running Windows XP.

I have a similar problem.

I have a playlist of around 130 songs. Every now and then it'll just skip though like 30 songs. :/

They're all there, but it just skips over 'em.

So yeah.

Um, ok.

Well, sorry to have posted in your topic, but I figured since our problems are similar, it'd be fine.

Do you have any 3rd-party plugins installed?
Are you using a DSP/Effect plugin?
Are those WMA files DRM-protected?

If your files are not DRM-protected, you could try letting in_dshow.dll handle WMA files instead of the WMA input plugin:

Or use an older WMA input plugin:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....22#post1443322
(won't support DRM-protected WMAs either)

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.
