Playlist in ML doesn't load at startup / Winamp 5.22
Hello.
I have a problem with the Playlist function in the Media Library. First my System: - Windows XP Pro, SP2 - Winamp 5.22 I want to add own playlists into my Media Library. Adding, importing and editing new playlists is no problem. everything seems to work. But when i restart winamp, there are no playlists anymore. i tried every method of exit winamp (task manager, the small [x], and the context menu "Exit"). i reinstalled winamp a few times. i also removed everything from the C:\Programme\Winamp directory before newinstalling it. i also cleaned up registry an temp files. when i look into the Winamp\Plugins\ml directory i see the new playlists i added before into the media library. (the playlists are named like "plfDBF.m3u, plfBE9.m3u...). but when i started winamp, these playliste are not loaded to the media library. on another computer the playlist funktion o the ML works perfectly. the same winamp version and the same configuration. i hope, that someone here can help me. mfg, Maximilian PS: sorry for my bad englisch, its from germany |

First, please confirm that you're using latest ml_playlists.dll and playlist.w5s from the Updates section of the 5.22 Released thread.
Then confirm that xml.w5s is in the Winamp\System folder |

maybe your playlists.xml is read-only, or the file "xml.w5s" is missing in the Winamp\System directory...?
But actually, re-installing Winamp should have helped...hmm.. //EDIT: Sorry, posted too late... (phone ring between "writing" and clicking on "post reply" can cause some confusions... /

hi, ever since i updated to Winamp 5.22, i have been having so many problems.. first my playlist disappeared, then everytime i would want to try to open up winamp, half-way through winamp loading it would crash. so then i uninstalled winamp and reinstalled it. i then added all of my playlists again, after adding them i exited winamp. about 30 minutes later i opened winamp again and only 6 playlists remained. i was so angered that i have switched to realplayer.
is there anyway to resolve this issue? i just checked the winamp system folder and xml.w5s is there. I love winamp but now that i am experiancing these issues, i really don't like it anymore. so if someone can help me out, i'd appreciate it. |
