Nice build

I want to report two (possible) bugs here, both in the Bento skin.

1. There is a shadow for the timer in the Main Window... So I can see half of the timer numbers "under" the timer (if you understand me).. Maybe it should be like this (its cool though), but Ill post it anyway since it may be a bug...
Do you want a screenshot?

2. This may not be so important, but Ill post it anyway... Look at the songticker in the Bento skin (when using "Classic" scroller style)..
Sometimes, the text stops a half second - Something like a "kick"... (This is NOT the same issue as the lag in the Modern Skin earlier.. I repeat, NOT).
It just scrolls, and it stop in a half second (just "tick") and keep scrolling... Very difficult to explain..
It is not so easy to see it, but I do (and it is NOT the same problems as in the Modern skin in an earlier beta)..
What do you think?

As for other things, the installer looks nice (new and fresh) and the new features are cool..

And for #2, I understand if you didnt understand what I meant... Heh..
If you remember the lag bug in the Modern Skin songticker earlier (not now anymore), it stopped and were pushed to the right side...
If you then look in Bento, it does the same thing WITHOUT being pushed to the right side... Maybe that was better?
Maybe there is some "padding" issues there too.. I dont know :P

Anyway, keep up the good work...

I'm using an iPod Classic 160GB.

Just installed Beta 3, the Auto-Tag works for single tracks when I do it through the File Info window, but Send To -> Auto-Tag never works when I right click on one or multiple tracks.

The menu disappears, but nothing comes up. :/

EDIT: Another more serious problem. When I went to Eject iPod from Winamp, it said: "Failed to eject iPod. Is something else using it?".

And nothing was. So I closed Winamp, and used Safely Remove Hardware in Windows, and then disconnected the iPod. (After Ejecting, Please Wait...) disappeared from the screen.

Now my iPod says it has No Music, 0 songs. (but I can still see them in Winamp).

Can I rebuild the iPod library somehow?

Hey, I found a new bug...

Reproduce:

1. Have Winamp open (with Main Window, Playlist and Equalizer)... (This is the Winamp Modern Skin).

2. Press the ML button in the Main Window (Media Library)..

3. When you press that ML button, the Media Library will appear BEHIND the other Winamp windows...
To show it, I have to click on the desktop (or another Winamp window) and then click on the Media Library (which is still behind the other windows). Then it will become over the other windows..
It should open over the other windows from the beginning.

Confirmed. Font issue seems to be gone with the release of Build 1600!
*crossing fingers*

Just the previously documented issue holding me back now ...
with displaying the correct Album Art for Albums with the same title
(but that was to be expected as it was not in the change log).

Hey guys, thanks for the new build.

One change i was hoping for but disappointed with was the ability to horizontally expand the main window in the bento skin. I'm happy you implemented it, but i kinda wanted it so that the scrolling song title could be elongated. This doesn't happen tho, instead only the equaliser bit expands (and incorporates the beat vis)....is there any way of expanding it so that the eqauliser width stays the same but the song title bit gets bigger.

Personally i don't like the bigger buttons in the bento skin. Is there any way of including the older skin build in?

Otherwise great work guys....loving all the other improvements!!

AOL Videos -> Music -> Dance & Electronic
The Scrollbar is "jumping" (big/small/"top"/"bottom") if I move the mouse over the Artists

b)
If I start a AOL Music Video Winamp switch to "Video", starts an advertisment, switch to "Media Libray" and starts the requestet Music Video, but the Media Libray ist still highlighted and the buttons on the bottom are from the Media Library and not from "Video".

If I stop the Music Video and click on Play I hear the music, but the video is not shown.

well, i got my first crash again in the autotagger
selected 3 tracks in playlist
send to auto tagger
result is a crash

I HAVE NO INTERNET CONNECTION
probably the auto tagger was noT tested in pc's without internet.

The show/hide reflection for vis/timer settings were there in the previous build.
It's just that the Bento player window is bigger now, so maybe it's more noticable than it was before...

I couldn't reproduce any lag issues with the Bento classic songticker. Sorry.

I also couldn't reproduce the ML window issue in Winamp Modern skin either.

Yeah, that'll be a Gracenote database issue.
As far as I know, it just analyzes the song and tags it with the first matched result. This can sometimes be tricky if the same song appears on a few different albums/compilations. Maybe there should be some way to give you a choice? Not sure how that would/could be implemented though...

Urghh. That's really bad. I always uncheck everything on that screen (remote, toolbar, emusic), so wouldn't be able to reproduce it anyway, heh. However, the Winamp Remote people (orb.com) will certainly need notifying about this problem. As to whether they can reproduce/diagnose it though....

Re: Analyzer
Try it with a different color theme, eg. Winamp Classic theme.
You'll definitely see the difference between normal, fire & line modes there.

Hmm. Weird. I'm not sure why "Send To > Auto Tag" isn't working for you on any tracks whatsoever. Alas, we can't reproduce the problem. I have noticed though that it might take a while (maybe up to 20 or 30 seconds sometimes) before the UI appears on first usage within a Winamp session. This is as it's waiting for the Gracenote libraries to load. After that, the UI should appear almost instantly on further attempts within the same Winamp session.

Alas, I can't help you with the iPod Classic problem. Anyone else?

Hmm... are you definitely using Bento #105 ?
The songticker / scrolling title does elongate when you stretch out the player!

a) is a known issue (it was like that in 5.35 and previous, and is serverside code related)

b) Hmm, strange. Yeah, Bento isn't too friendly when it comes to trying to view ML and videos at the same time. But the highlighted tab issue most certainly needs looking into.

c) Hmm, even weirder. I'll try to reproduce later (I personally havent attempted to view any videos in Online Services for quite a while now, ever since... well, you know what!)

You're not the only one to report the same thing about the Toolbar.
All 6 people who I know that installed it have all said that it doesn't appear/work.

And yeah, as Sawg said, autotag needs an internet connection, but certainly shouldn't be crashing when one isn't available. Thanks.

In Winamp Bento, I noticed that the font that displays the title of the song and the artist seems to be an ugly Arial without any kind of cleartype to it, whereas in build 1568, the font that displayed the name of the song and the artist had the "fuzzy" look like the rest of the fonts in the skin do.

Is this the way it's supposed to look?

@jph6t: that's good to hear the font issue is gone, just need some more confirmations from the others who were experiencing the issue as well (just to make sure it's not a fluke that it works ok for you, koopa and my hacked up xp install )

You cant shrink the bento skin to take the form of regular winamp, or even separate the video player from the rest of everything else. Are there any plans to separate them? Or maybe someone can make a modern skin look like bento...

bento is a single user interface skin (SUI) so why would they make the video detachable?? it would just go against the whole idea of single interface

Bug: Every other click on an entry in Online Services collapses the parent tree of the child.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Winamp, go to Media Library -> Online Services
2. AOL Radio with XM -> Expand "*XM Satellite Radio*"
3. Click on any station. The Now Playing information is displayed, "*XM Satellite Radio*" branch remains open.
4. Click on another station. The Now Playing information is displayed, "*XM Satellite Radio*" branch has now collapsed.

I tried it with Bento and Modern. No 3rd party plugins, I didn't install any of the crap like Winamp Remote, Toolbar, or eMusic trial.

Previous behavior (as expected) was the branch would remain open regardless of how many times you switch stations in the same category. It seems to be a new bug with this build.


ps - I just like to say I HATE the "Now Playing" window automatically opening when I tune a station. This is a new "feature" (read: annoyance) as of the last couple of betas. If there isn't an official option to disable this permanently I hope someone writes another plugin to "fix" this annoyance.

SRS WOW Thing crashes the latest beta upon the closing of Winamp (clean install, plus the WOW Thing.) I know it's third party, therefore not supported, but it's worked up until now so I thought I'd report it. The error thrown is:

It works fine while listening to music, just crashes upon closing.
I've attached a copy of report.zip (the crash reporter crashes while coming up with it, so I zipped it myself.)

In the bento Skin,
if you click the colapse window button in the lower right hand corner to colapse it, when you click that button again to expand it, the window comes back with different deminsions (shorter) than it was initially.

Bug: Song information for a newly tuned XM channel doesn't display

When I tune a station in the "*XM Satellite Radio*" category it displays the URL in the ticker until the track changes (uvox://blahblahblah). The information displayed in the File Info frame (between the main frame and playlist) is updated instantly, just not the ticker.

I can only seem to reproduce the bug using the Bento skin. Behavior is as expected with Classic or Modern.
