Add Encoded column to the ML

Might I request that a Media Library (ML) column be added
for the existing "Encoded" field in the ID3v2 tag.

Thanks for your consideration.

In addition to the above, might I request that the "Encoded" field in the ID3v2 tag
be added to those options available to be manipulated via the "Edit file info" window
that is accesible via the "Edit selected items..." command on the right-click menu.

i agree and support the above, except the 2nd post/request.

i think some fields should not be user editable, since afterall, the content should not depend on user input. mp3tag will prob do it tho.

Obviously I disagree.

Many encoders (including my chosen option of EAC to rip and LAME to encode) will not populate the "Encoded" ID3 tag.

I also use this field to populate lineage data, that allows me to determine where a given file came from ... be it ripped from a CD I own, purchased via iTunes, purchased via Amazon, or downloaded from a bands website.

Re: Add Encoded column to the ML & "Edit file info" window

I'd still love to see this feature added to Winamp.

As it is right now, everytime I need to view a listing and/or sort by the "Encoded" field I have to view my music files in Mp3tag.

Thanks to the developers for your consideration.

i see what u mean, but i thought it would be best to populate that field by actual examination of the header in the file.
