Video MPEG and MPG "somehow" got associated with Winamp. So when I view something from the web; it downloads and then runs winamp. Rather than run Windows Media Player. I have gone through the associations tabs of both programs and this is still happening. Can someone help?

Yeah, I bet you've got the Winamp Agent enabled ?!?!?
This will prevent other programs from "stealing" associations [usually Real Player etc]
1. Open the Winamp prefs and click on the "Agent" tab. Disable all 3 options.
2. Next check to see if MPG is listed in the File Types section and, if so, deselect it.
3. Close the prefs and exit Winamp.
4. Open Media Player and reassociate MPG.

This should solve your problem.

Any further problems, reply below and we'll take it from there.
