I love WinAMP and have been using it for over a year, but all of the sudden I have major problems with it.

For starters, it won't play mp3s or any other media format. It will show the first two seconds up on the screen and then stop or it will fly through the track skipping around from say 13 to 36 to 49 seconds and then stop. With both situations, no sound is ever heard.

Next, Shoutcast streams don't play. It gives me some blurb like .wav streams not supported because of copyright issues or something like that.

PLEASE HELP!

My Winamp is screwed up too! The part up at the top which shows you the sound waves is all screwed. It's not as bad but their is one song that doesn't play right and it plays like you described.

Joe set your output plugin back to "Nullsoft waveOut" to do so:
Open Winamp
Press Ctrl + P
Click on "Output"
Then click on "Nullsoft waveOut" once then press "Close"
You might want to hunt down all the wave files you have been making and delete them (you had the output plugin set to "Null Disk Writer")

Better find out where it ditched those files you encoded with the WAV writer, it sounds like it was encoding with that plug-in and those are pretty large files as WAVs

I found them and deleted them. 500 megs+. And I wondered where all my hard drive space was going...
