win2k, and winamp 2.71 (crashes)

hey ya'all,
my configuration:
pII 400
win2k advanced server
256 ram
110 gigs on 3 HD (what? i like mp3s...

i recently installed win2k pro on my machine and it worked as good any microsoft product, until i installed winamp 2.71. i had version 2.666 before, and after installing 2.71, my computer simply started crashing - not just the application - but the whole thing. it would play for awhile, and then simply freeze up. i then installed win2k advanced server and had the same problem. I had to uninstall and downgrade to 2.666 - anyone else having this problem?

I've also had trouble with 2.71, but under NT 4.0. I didn't have any trouble witn 2.666, however I didn't keep the install for 2.666. Do you still have the install file so I can downgrade as well until they get a bugfixed version out?

it causes crashes in win2000?
have you heard anything about it causing crashes in win98?
