Is it just my luck or is everyone having a problem with winamp on windows 2000?

The first track of the CD plays just fine, but once it moves to the next track or if I want to close out winamp the whole thing freezes on me. Then if I try to shut it down thru Task Manager, it tells me that I need to restart the program, but I can't do a single thing with winamp. instead it just sits there and cuts off all other audio. The only thing affected is the audio, all other things on the PC work just fine, I can still type up documents, cruise the web, etc, but i can't do anything with winamp or any other audio program once it freezes.

And yes, i've already removed it, uploaded the newest version, re-installed, and I've tried it twice (the winamp.

The only option I have is to completely shut down the PC and let it restart.

I'm having a similar problem...only i don't have windows 2000. I just have windows 98, and winamp is causing my comp to freeze after playing mp3s. My comp completely freezes randomly at the end of a song...it happens when i play cd's too....
