Coldplay

I just wanted to spread my love for the band Coldplay.

I'm sure a lot of you have heard their song, "Yellow", and most likely have seen the video. But if that particular song didn't catch your fancy, I'm sure their latest song/video will.

It's called "Trouble", and MTV is already calling it a breakthrough video, which I have to agree 100%. Plus the song is just down right beautiful.

Random note: On Spin Magazine’s top 20 albums of the year list (2000), Coldplay's "Parachutes" was number 19, right in front of U2's "All That You Can't Leave Behind".

So in conclusion. After hearing/seeing this video, I can not wait to go out and get their album.

So what do you think of this song/album/band?

What the hell are you talking about??!!

Coldplay sucks shit! All their songs are the most depressing-sounding, most lame excuse for so-called "music" I've ever heard in my entire life, especially the "song" "Trouble". Even their best one, "Don't Panic", has only one thing which I like about it: the echoing guitar effect - but the rest is just crap.

i really like the song yellow, i like coldplay. yeah sure they may have a depressing tone, but it is still good music, it is something different. like if i am having a bad day , yellow will cheer me up.

and valkyrie , everyone is entitled to there own opinion but dont come on here and start saying a band sucks, everyone likes different types of music an dif you dont like coldplay, you shouldnt have replied to the post. or you could have replied and just stated what you disliked about the band instead of dissing them for no reason.

Yeah, I like Coldplay, thought they are a lot quieter than the usual stuff I listen to (Linkin Park, Creed, Nirvana, Offspring...). the only other band close to that quiet I like (well, love) are Counting Crows. But Yellow and Trouble both rock (Trouble came out in the UK a..g..e..s ago), but Shiver is their best song.

Coldplay is cool. They have had so many concerts here in the bay area in the last year I can't even count them.

Yellow is the only song I've heard from them so far. Real mellow music, kinda like Smashing Pumpkins Twilight to Starlight CD from Mellin Collie.

Yes, indeed they do. Too bad they are broken up. I can't wait to see what Billy does on his own. I heard he has a project planned.

Yes he does
Actually, a SP greatest hits will be released on November 20th. The first edition will include a CD called Judas O with rarities and outtakes.
Also heard that Billy Corgan will be releasing his solo album next year.

yes, go buy their album (called parachutes). 7icha7d did, and so I have it too... and it is really actually very quite good. My favourite is spies. In fact, it's just gone into my playlist.

Yep, i can vouch that the coldplay album is great.

Loads of great bands over here that take ages to get noticed over there, or not at all.

if you guys get bored, here's some great songs to check out...

Radiohead - Electioneering, Black Star
Manic Street Preachers - Motown Junk, Revol, Yes
The Beautiful South - Old Red Eyes Is Back
Belle And Sebastian - I Fought In A War
Portishead - Glory Box
Therapy? - Screamager
The Prodigy - Mindfields
Super Furry Animals - Gathering Moss
iDLEWiLD - Rusty

Re: above post

Aside from the Manic Street Preachers those bands are just average, poor british bands. Just like Coldplay they are dull. Nothing special.

We struggle greatly to produce quality bands now. Average bands - hundreds of them. Great bands - 2 or 3 at best :|

Matt... you must be high or somthing. (can I get some )

Radiohead is excellent. Portishead is great, if not excellent.

And the The Prodigy are atleast very very creative with their arrangments and ideas that they put into their beats. Their style is that no one else really has, so to call the same same old blah blah blah, is way off. Plus their video for Smack My Bitch Up was excellent. w00t!

Coldplay, ok but a little slow and boring for my taste. Yet SP is killer.
