+ New option "Read retries" controls how much times CD Reader will try to
reread damaged sector.
+ New option "Ignore read errors". In checked state will force CD Reader to

I guess so.

http://www.freedb.org/sections.php?o...ticle&artid=18

The link above will show you how to configure it properly so it can access FreeDB.

It's a glitch. When you install CD Reader it doesn't change the winamp.ini file. It doesn't even change the winamp.ini file when you configure it in Winamp. (Very odd.) It still leaves the CDDBAddress entry as "cddb.cddb. http com" (or whatever) in your winamp.ini. So you have to manually edit your winamp.ini file. The first four lines under [CDReader Input Plugin] should read:

[CDReader Input Plugin]
Priority=1
UseCDDB=1
UseLocalCDDB=0 (or 1 if you want it to use the cdplayer.ini file in the future)
CDDBAddress=freedb.freedb.org:8880

At least that worked for me.

thanks. I'll try that, but that still doesn't account for why I can't access their website. =\

I don't use EAC, But I used CDex with freedb about an hour ago and it connected fine. Do you use a firewall? If so, is it blocking access to the internet by Winamp and EAC for some reason? Other than that I can't think of anything at the moment. It's working great for me.

Thanks. I like Lennon and that particular self portrait too.

Nope. I don't have any firewalls set up.

Funny... seems Windows Media Player XP gets CD tracks names from somewhere perfectly. I suspect they gave in to CDDB and still use them.

I guess I'm destined to use WiMP to play cd's from now on unless someone can help me set up CDReader to read from CDDB databases instead of freedb.

Whee, cool beans, a new version.

I am downloading it now, Copah's site seems to be back online .

Looking at the changes of this version, it seems like CD-Reader really can improve playback quality now. Cool!

Peace.

Aw, I still can't download it . It must be their servers, as disabling my proxy connection did not help.

Since the file (the EXE) is under 100k, I would love someone who already got it to attach it to a quick post so people like me who can't seem to download it off from official sources have a backdoor .

Peace and thanks .

Change the extension to .exe
Be happy.

[edit: deleted the attachment. No point in wasting server space with dupes.]
