Converting audio files

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how to convert my Real Player audio files into files that winamp can play. Thanks. Please post back or email me directly at Wisp928@hotmail.com

A list of available plugins

More info: TSGH -> Where did those plugins go

For RealAudio support (RA, RAM, RM, RMM) get Hellsoft's Realized plugin.

A similar plugin is Innover's Real Audio plugin, but this tends to be a bit buggy

Tara's plugin supports most Real Audio/video/Jukebox formats
(all the above, plus RMJ, some RMX, SMI, SMIL, etc, as well as MPEG & AVI)
It also allows you to use alternative output plugins (eg. DiskWriter or MP3Out) to convert to WAV or MP3, if you wish . . . though the files should play okay in their original RealNetworks format.

Direct links to each plugin can be found in the above threads.

Please note, all plugins require use of the RealPlayer engine/codecs to function properly. You can uninstall RealPlayer if you wish, but you'll then need to install RealAlternative insead.

And if the RMX files are copy-protected its really a lost cause because in that case only RealPlayer can play them, I believe.

Although if you're canny, you only have to play them once before hitting them with --alt-preset standard (should preserve any relevant quality.)
