Whoops..

Today, I was at Minidisco.com, and I added a few thnigs to my cart, about $425 USD worth. I went to the checkout, entered in my details and made up a credit card number - I was just really really bored. As I expected, the order didn't go through. So I made up another number.
The order.. it did go through.
If a Minidisc player turns up on my door in two weeks...
Or if I get rung up by a guy with over $400 extrta in his credit card bill..
I think I may have just commited an accidental felony.
*ahem*
Is this a good or bad thing?

Hehe I know, there are so little chances of me getting a real number, as well as the expiry date..
Of course I'm only 14, can't put me in jail.
Lets just all hope for the best..

Nemesis, the orders been made, been processed.

Better to go through all the trouble to find their number, call them and cancel the order, than to get a heart attack every time somebody knocks on your door.

Haha.. I don;t know the number myself, it was a random number. So I don't know it.
And no, I'm not of Irish descent, and I haven't read that book

I'm not sure what I'll do, I think I'll just sit tight, and if a Minidisc player turns up on my doorstep so be it. And if I start getting phone calls from a very pissed of guy with a very large bill, I'll bury the player in the backyard, or alternatively, move to Mexico..

Besides, I think you need the number to cancel the order, otherwise anyone could cancel anyone's orders, in theory at least..
And I didn't take down the order number, which you need.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll see you when I get out of prison

call minidisco anyway. When they notice that they credit card holder info and the address you gave them don't match up, they'll believe you when you say you made a mistake.

Haha, that's funny
Ironically, the card I selected was a Mastercard, the very same card that made those ads...

The credit card number will not match the shipping address so chances are that the order will not go through. This is a very serious issue though. I went to the website, they have a contact email address. You may want to email them, and let them know it was a mistake.

Good Luck,

~ Missy

You better contact them, man. That's a serious offense. They won't likely throw you in jail, but you'll get nasty fines. Upwards in the ten thousands, depending on where you live.

Call them or email them. You could tell them the truth if you don't want to try to carry off a lie. I'm sure they'd be unhappy, but they don't want to go through the hassle of a refused reciept either. They'll cancel it if you ask, I guarantee.

Edit: Hmm, it's less than 500 dollars, so it's still petty theft. You could still get huge fines, but not to the tune of $10,000, most likely.

Seriously, you should own up or you could be in big trouble. It's damn funny though

If it turns out to have been my card (will see when my statement arrives) I will personally find out who you are, visit your house, and ram your computer right up your ass. Bad thing.

Otherwise, lol

The chances of that happening are akin to Elton John releasing a new album... in collaboration with Slipknot. You could get charged with petty theft.

Dear David,

We're very sorry, but our bank has had trouble verifying the credit card that you used to place your Minidisco order. Although your credit card number appears to be good, the bank has requested more information before we can send out your order.

If you would please email or fax us one of the following pieces of information, we will be very happy to send out your order right away:

1. A copy of a recent credit card statement or bill that clearly shows your name, mailing address, and the credit card number. It is very important that your card number appears on the statement.

or

2. A clear photocopy or fax of your credit card (front and back, signed) AND a teller receipt for a recent purchase that you made with your credit card.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. By requesting to see a copy of your bill, or a copy of your credit card, the bank is protecting you from someone else using your card number without your permission!

Thank you very much.

some advice: try going back to the website. They may have saved "your" details in a cookie or something. It's worth a try.

I didn't mean that 'Ah well' as a 'Too bad' 'Ah well', but rather as a 'Well, there you go' 'Ah well'. I can't really dedpict my tone of voice in a post. Not that I'm actually saying what I'm typing.
I'm not crazy!
Okay, well I've managed to confuse myself... I'll shutup now.
Lucky I haven't got this to worry about no more
