WildTangent Plug-ins

Anyone use any of these plug-ins (@ WildTangent.com)? Used some before, but something called Web Driver was put on my computer that I didn't know about; now I have completely re-installed my system (due to PowerDVD destroying it) & would like to use them again, but I want to know exactly what Web Driver does, is used for, & if I can use the plug-ins w/o it; but WildTangent has never emailed me back any response (tried contacting them 3 times!). Any help is appreciated.

Hi CrYoG,

The Web Driver is a 3D Graphics Engine that exists as a browser plugin much like you would think of Macromedia Shockwave. Basically, you can embed it in a web page and whip up some cool 3D stuff.

All of our games and visualizers use it to render their graphics, without it, you can't use our plugin's because, well, you wouldn't be able to see anything.

You can install it here: URL submitted by user. if it doesn't install automatically when you install one of our plugins. It should install automatically so hopefully you won't need that link.

As I answered Ikonomi in this thread (URL submitted by user.) we are not spyware... you may hear people call our software that because our automatic updater is enabled by default and they didn't read the eula. They don't care to find out how to turn it off, they'd rather jump to conclusions. Read my post in that thread, I tell you exactly what we send (just info about your hardware), and how to turn it off if you don't want to send it. We also don't share any collected data with 3rd parties.

The true definition of spyware is based around collection of data on the "user". These would be things such as name, address, phone, email address, creditcards, passwords, where they visit on the net, etc.. We don't collect any of this. I did a quick search for "Spyware definition" on Google, here's what I found: URL submitted by user.

Anyway, sorry that PowerDVD did you wrong and that you were having problems contacting us. If you mailed support@wildtangent.com or av@wildtangent.com you should have recieved an automated response when you mailed us which states at the top:

"**NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE. THIS ADDRESS IS NOT MONITORED** If you can't find your question below, or need assistance with the troubleshooting steps listed here, please email troubleshooting@" etc... (I've left the wildtangent.com off to avoid too much spam on that one, support gets enough as it is)

troubleshooting@ is the one that we monitor and you should have recieved an answer if you mailed there. If you didn't, please let me know. Yes, we know that this setup really sucks, we're switching to a new and improved support system in a month from now which should allow you to get the answers you need in a much easier manner.

Thanks,

-Orf

Wild Tangent

Enjoy all these plugins, but in the World of fine machinery, Wild Tangent belongs elsewhere.Too much trouble, not recommended!.Acidspunk is 100/100 as is Terra, and Space 0.9.
