so, i want to do a test with GCHQ, see if people are really listening to us. I want to use words in a phone call that i know or think i know will set off echelon. what is the likely hood of me being arrested for this henious crime? will i be able to walk the earth again?

Simple test:
Phone a friend and include the following words in a sentence:
"I spoke to my good friend Bin Laden - Al Qa'ida - Terrorist meeting tonight at 8pm - bring the semtex, nuclear bomb formula and chemical weapons, don't forget the 10 kilos of heroin and that big rock of crack - meet in the same place as the child pornography sex ring"

Personally, I think it's all a load of bullshit (though I suppose it depends on where you are in the world?). There's probably more chance of being caught/arrested for sending a dodgy e-mail... if they can trace your IP etc

I can just see it now, down at the cop station, pleading with them:
"it was just a test, I was only joking . . . honest!"

But then again, only the guilty get paranoid...

Theres billions of documents transferred, and phone calls daily that it would be impossible to track every single one of them, and have them traced to terrorism/anything illegal. So unless you placed this phone call in an Airport, or in front of a Police station you wouldn't be caught. You gotta be pretty stupid to do that.

why do you deny yourselves the truth, this is documented knowledge. a Satelite (echelon) has a computer on board, it has an inbuilt dictionary. It picks up on keywords, these calls.emails are then forwared to the apropiate authority and double checked

I hate you paranoid freaks that pass off your theories as fact. I don't deny that the governments have ways to track individuals' communications; I don't know anyone who would. But, there are no computers in the world powerful enough to monitor all communications. It's just not possible. Add to that the fact that speech recognition technology is seriously lacking, and there goes the rest of the chance that they could really monitor your calls. You say "I am a terrorist", and the computer hears "I am a therapist". Ooh, watch out Freud!

They aren't monitoring everyone's calls. It's not feasable. If they were, for some reason, monitoring your calls with a computer, it would only have about a 50% chance of catching any "flag words". But, I repeat again, there is no way they can monitor all communications.

You are perfectly entitled to walk through the middle of the city with a white hood and a KKK banner if you want to (although I wouldn't fancy your chances of making it through to the other side), and you can't be arrested for it. You can be arrested for inciting racial violence, or attacking someone due to their colour, race or religion. Why do you think there are so many problems in Northern Ireland? Both Catholics and Protestants are perfectly free to express their views, its just when violence overspills that people get arrested.

OMFG! finally somebody who thinks like me! They are watching us.
