Nobody or nothing is to blame; this is a person's right, and we cannot take away a person's ability to do what makes them happy. Everyone has a right to live in a free and happy world.

Why should marriage be a political issue at all? Couldn't we just find a label for two people who want to share residence/expenses/paperwork like "civil union"? That way, a pair of siblings, or parent/adult child, or long term friend-friend or same with trusted room mates could enjoy the rights/privileges of married people. Personally, I really don't care who is married, straight or gay. Romantic marriage has too many emotional and religious connections and should be separate from laws. I would rather support a system that allows for any pair of people to be able to enjoy the perks (and disadvantages as well) that we give to married couples, so long as they realize that once you're in, it can be tricky to get out, just like traditional marriage.

Yes, necrobump, I know. I just wanted to throw the idea out there to see what you all thought.

After all why should Straight people be the only ones to be trapped in loveless marriages
Great news! In France (I'm living there), same-sex marriage is legal since 2 or 3 years!

Its same with the legalisation of cannabis, that's started but if the government (especially here in the UK) aren't making money from it by taxing then it'll never happen.
it will NEVER be legalised in the UK while there is still the train of thought that Cannabis is bad for us...

Cannabis could do so much to help people with chronic pain (Like me) its going to stay illegal for a long time the Govt won't even enter into a debate despite petitions.
