I bought a PS2 yesterday. But I have no games for it yet. I'm having a little bit of trouble finding good games. I like games like Halo or Gears of War.

What games are good on PS2?

I have played the Gran Turismo games just never really got into it. My sister liked it though.

I just got back from Gamestop. I bought Burnout 3 and Ace Combat 4.

Burnout does indeed rock. The soundtrack for the game seems to be lacking a bit though.

Flatout (2) soundtrack is not bad tho. but i dont know if that's out for PS2.

and a couple of thousand destroyable deco objects is a nice thing to have

Flatout 2 looks like a fun game.

I've been kind of eying a game called Red Faction. Ever heard of it?

katamari damacy is an all time favorite of mine, it's one of those games you start off thinking "ok, wtf am i doing" and (for most people) fall in love with the concept.

doesn't quite fit your genre specifications, but you might want to rent it and see at least if possible.

Red Faction was alright though Red Faction 2 is a good bit better and has a decent multi player. Both however are rather dated by modern shooter standards. In regards to FPS on the ps2 I would check out Black, TimeSplitters Future Perfect, Half-Life and Killzone in addition to Red Faction 2.

My sister loves Katamari Damacy. I've played it a couple of times. It's fun but it just feels really weird. I've also been eying Black and Half Life. I may get those.

Dont forget the God of War series both I & II are great games that really make the most of the hardware for some impressive gameplay. Also another series you and your sister may enjoy is ratchet and clank. Its a platformer mixed with shooting elements and some good comedy. Going Commando is my favorite of the 3 on available on the ps2.
