Monster fish minigame

I only found out about this when I received the monster bait when spinning the wheel.
I read about it and understand that this is to be a team effort in the club and that it takes about 25 baits before it's ready to be caught.

Question is, once caught does it reset? So if one club member catches the monster fish after everyone in the club has been feeding it, do you have to start over to feed a new fish?

The reason I ask is if members feed the fish as a team effort and only one member reaps the reward, it would seem a bit unfair to the other members who helped feed the thing if it resets so you have to feed a new one.

Anyone know the answer?

I am guessing that what will happen is that people will just save their monster bait until they have 30 or so and use them all at once so they can make sure they catch the fish themselves.
