    Is it normal if some songs change from 128 to 224 to 192 and then to 320?

    It's perfectly normal. It's called VBR, variable bit rate.

        I prefer VBR myself. I always, uh, magicly make, MP3s in that format. (128-192kbps)

        Better sound than 128 but smaller filesize than 192.

          That happen to me, when some MP3's were
          created with errors....

          * PC: Intel Core 2 DUO E6550 @ 2.33 GHz with 2 GB RAM: Archlinux-i686 with MATE.
          * Laptop: Intel Core 2 DUO T6600 @ 2.20 GHz with 4 GB RAM: Archlinux-x86-64 with MATE.

            It's perfectly alright with VBR. The only inconvenience is that you can't determine the accurate length/time of the song, as Winamp displays only an approximate time value as per the data stored in the mp3-header.

              And VBR might not work on them portable MP3 players - but hey, they suck anyway. VBR rocks.
