Question about Kazaa Lite: please read

Is Kazaa lite connected to the same network as Kazaa? If so why is it that when I search for a file that is widely available on Kazaa, K-lite will only return very few results?

Kazaa lite is pretty much the same as the kazaa client, just with the adware/spyware removed. It connects to the same network.

As for why it returns fewer results, check your filter settings.

The default filters for K-lite are:
.jpg.exe, .jpg.vbs, .avi.exe, .avi.vbs, .mp3.exe, .mp3.vbs, -fulldownloader, 3-fulldwnloader, -full-downloader, -games-fulldownloader, divx-fulldownloader, 3-full-dwnloader-, -games-fulldownloader-, -games-fulldownload, pack-fully-download, .htm, .html, .url, .sys, .ini, .m3u, .xml, .vbs, .js, .bat, .eml

what this does is hides all the stupid files that "link" you to the files instead of downloading them as-is.

Generally not a good idea, since some files can be viruses, trojans and such, and those kind of things are.. not uncommon on that fs-network.

i think it also depends on what computers are on and stuff. i've noticed that files come up at some times, but not at other times. try again later.

I use Kazaa but with Kazaap that blocks all the spyware. I haven't even tried Kazaa Lite because I had the same question.

i have no problems finding things on kazaalite. kazaa lite is the exact same program as kazaa, except it was hacked to remove the spyware

kazaa as a program is legal, what you do with it can be legal or not, for example i can share open source programs.

kazaalite might be as legal as kazaa- both were featured in PC World

because it's one companies product being released by another company without the first companies permission.

next up on the list is the fact that it was also ALTERED without permission before distributing.

it would be ironic of Kazaa sued the kazaalite maker because they are guilty of the same crime: allowing free and easy software distribution.
