  • 3 Questions

I have 3 questions.I wish someone can help.

    1) The search for files or folders function(within my computer) in Win Xp works only if I am connected to the internet. Why?

    2) Its about Winamp. You might have seen the Winamp Classic Skin(that somebody made) which looks like the default modern skin for Winamp 5.0. But there is a problem with it. Because if you click on an item in the media library it is higlighted just for a split second but soon the color of the highlight box changes to that of the background making it indistinguishable. Is there any way of making any quick adjustments to change this?

    3) Nearly 200 MBs of Mp3 from my computer has vanished into thin air. Nobody deleted this or anything. Could this be the job of a virus or is it something else?

    Please help!!

It'll take you some time to get over the image of me naked in the shower......mind you don't masturbate to hard thinking about it...."

      1) Dunno, how about trying a microsoft help site instead of a media player forum.

      2) e-mail the skin author, I don't much care.

      3) That's a shame.

Cause they were not from boy bands(lol bit use of my guessing power)
Beware everyone......your pc(song drive) is my next target.Better start collecting boybands’ songs.......

Wanna know more about pop music or my boy-bands?

I think the thread starter should have been more mature in their choice of forums to post such questions in. Or even searched for a solution first before posting here. And if they did some research, then what was it? What are the blind allys they've looked into already?

Perhaps they should read this and then take further action, whatever that may be.

                  1) I think XP has some strang problems. That may be one of them. This is why I still use '98.
                  2) I got the highlite problem too. There is a dotted box still "highlighting" the media that is selected.
                  3) I think that it is unlikely that a virus only deleted some mp3s and left everything else alone. One time a folder dissapeared on my computer but it just turned out the properties somehow got changed to make it a hidden folder. It's possible thats what happened to your mp3s.

                            1. never had this prob. in xp myself I'd suggest a system restore.

                            2. haven't a clue.

                            3. again system restore back to the point when you know the mp3's existed.

If that fails get it to a technician ..he/she may/should be able to recover the lost data for you. it's not as aesy as some think and these generic data recovery software you see floating about never seem to ---least they never did for me...

                            Hope u get sorted

actually a general tech support forum seems pretty reasonable, we seem to have alot of general computer questions around here.
