Christophe,
Hello there, from the Kaillera community. Remember me? I was a big fan of your program back in 2001 or whenever it was you first started.
I can't remember if I tried to contact you or not (I think I tried emailing, maybe that was an old address you no longer use), but the community over at Kaillera.com could really use an announcement. We all figure you're good and busy doing things to pay the bills, but let people know.
Do you plan to continue the project?
Make it open source?
Quit it?
To sum up, Is Kaillera dead?
There's also the issue of continued client side development, even if your server program isn't ever going to be updated.
In the last few months people have been releasing new client versions that are quite good. But people who make the client ports (using new emulators) can't get people to use their programs if they aren't posted on the main page.
The mame32k client posted on kaillera.com is way out of date. There's also many little "hacks" in the community designed to fix exploits like people "closing" games and such, that could be implemented.
Anyway, perhaps you could appoint a webmaster to update the new builds or something? That would at least help things run more smoothly.
Being a "veteran" of that community and a moderator on the forums for a time, people have been begging me to try to get a message out. We figure you still care, if you're still willing to keep the site up and the master server going.
Thanks again for all your help, but it's been hard to get in contact with you. I confess I don't hang out on these forums but I was told I could find you here.
Take care. We look forward to hearing from you!
If you prefer not to talk about this here, feel free to email me or PM (see my profile) or post in this thread at the kaillera forums:
