  • Looping problem... heard it's an XP issue, any ideas?

Recently, my brother who incidentally has the maturity of a foetus, turned off the power on and off a few times, as a way to "punish me" and now every time I start windows my slave F drive loop check disks, and whenever I go to defragment the drive it says it¢s unable to because "chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume"

Does anybody have an idea how to solve this issue? Thank you all

    chkntfs /d

    (It's a command, run it).

        Expected behavior.
        Reboot, see if chkdsk runs.
        (Or try running defrag)

            Try:

            chkdsk F:

(in the logic that if chkdsk is scheduled to run, try running it...)

pricy solution: get a case with a locked door, destroy spare key and keep the other in one of your pocket (jeans preferred) while you work

There's still the switch on the back.

                  Do:
                  code:

                  chkntfs f:

and tell us what it says.

but if the bios is told not to repower on after power failure (i used to have a problem with a leaky iron and a circuit breaker... >.<) it will stay off until the power button is pressed.

                          C:\Documents and Settings\Andrew>chkntfs d:
The type of the file system is NTFS.
D: is dirty. You may use the /C option to schedule chkdsk for
                          this drive.

                          o.O

I would say your computer has a case of the fruity loops.

                            Upgrade to new DJ software.

                              Alright, try this:

                              code:
                              chkntfs /C D:
Reboot. Wait for the disk check to finish. Reboot again. If that don't do it, I've got one more suggestion. Let us know.
