I believe he wanted to not see the word "new" because it is not necessarily new. But like the commercial goes, "if you haven't seen it, it's new to you!"

Well, if they are going to change it, the first thing they might do is insert the correct date. Version 2.71 was released about 12/14/00. Version 2.72 was released about a month later (Justin released it in the forums on 1/16/01, it was on the site a day or two later).

However, as has been mentioned before, they're not real detail-oriented on this site, so I wouldn't hold my breath ...

It will always be new. We could be running 2.72 for the next few years, and it will still say new version 2.72 (and at the rate Winamp 3 is progressing, I wouldn't doubt it)

you can't just write it in a week and expect anyone to run it. these guys are some of the best around and they provide you with a product that's not only great, it's also free.

I am just waiting for Winamp v2.8 to be released. Well, stop. Justin's .plan says something about a planned digital audio CD support (not analog like it is now and always was). Hmmm, do we need this - We all have CDReader .
