  • AOL Music Player!?!

Hypothetically speaking?!? If this ever happens, WinAmp 3 will be the biggest waste of time and effort. You migh as well trash it if you are going to rename it. NO ONE will download it!! (Not any TRUE WinAmp fans, anyway!!) Everyone will use Sonique or some other freeware player. You are going to confuse the hell out of people who would think you would have to have AOL to use the AOL Music Player. I really hope someone had way too much to drink when they thought of this. Why was it even brought up!?! You KNOW what will happen if it is renamed to something as lame as AOL Music Player. I hope it's an idea and that is all it will ever be. AOL Music Player = Here we come, Sonique!!

They asked a suvery of what we would think if they renamed WinAmp to AOL Media Player all together! That means they would abolish the WinAmp name. I never said it was going to happen. I am just speaking out agaisnt the question. ASSUMPTION IS THE MOTHER OF ALL FUCK UPS. Keep that in mind.

Uhm, someone actually thought that Winamp was going to be renamed AOL Music Player? Excuse me while I stifle my laughter. AOL 6.0 has been out for how long now? Several months at least. How do people get this misinformed?

Does't mean it won't happen for AOL 7. I am not trying to say it will. I hope it doesn't. And you are right, it probably won't. Why would they have asked the question then? They said "rebrand WinAmp to AOL Music player". I am just commenting on what I read, nothing more. Rebranding means to me that they would rename WinAmp.

I think it's just for AOL to see if the majority of their users are using by choice or not. Lots of people are forced to use AOL for some reason or another, but they hate AOL just the same. If lots of people said that they would welcome the change in name, then AOL would know that they were doing something right. Is any of this making sense? Prolly not. I'll shut up...

Really! Did it use Real via a plugin? If yes, can somebody post a link to this plugin? Funny how Winamp can't get a license with Real, Spinner already has a license with Real, and now this AOL media player/which is reported to be a stripped down version of Winamp must have a Real license. Especially considering the AOL player doesn't seem to be following the Real license agreement - no visible Real logo on the player that I can see.

Can anyone who still has this thing installed post this plugin somewhere (assuming there is one)?
                      Got Plugins?

Went through AOL folder...the only plug ins
I've seen were the Winamp ones (in plug ins folder)
I assume that there were Real files there too, but
                          I'm not positive...
