That story reminded me of the time I was feeding a near brood of cats one morning. I had just woken up, was a little groggy, and decided to put on some preliminary clothes and feed the kitties before completely grooming myself ready for community college classes. After filling the bowels with food and water I stepped back a-bit to gaze upon my cat-feeding-frenzy handy-work. All of a sudden from behind me I hear momma-cat hissing and snarling and making every other kind of claw-work. Then not even a second later I finally felt what probably was either the tail or limb of some feline underfoot. Needless to say I was quite shocked. I wasn't hurt or anything. Not a single scratch. Just completely agast at all the commotion. When I turned around to see what happened I saw mamma-cat razor-backed and facing away from me and towards another cat. I then realized what happened. Mamma-cat had defended me from a cat I had inadvertently stepped on. Mamma-cat got extra special treats from me that day.
