  • 5-Second Delay Devices

I've been googleing (and maybe i'm not using the right keywords) but I'm to find a 5 second delayer of an audio feed. Recently, I've had some issues with some of our callers where profanity has slipped through the live calls, I'd like to have a 5 second delay running through a box wher I could have enough time to mute it before the final thing is put out to the airwaves. Anyone know where I can find such thing or know what I can search for?

    Thanks,
    Tucker

I found this site. I hope you find it useful.

Profanity delay software for Windows PCs, designed for talk and phone-in radio programmes. Flexible ways of working and a next generation obscenity delay that runs on a standard PC with soundcard

    and also this.

Isn't the whole point of internet radio is to be able to say whatever you want?
This is a sig of some nature.

Save your stream as a file. Stream the file after waiting 5 seconds. Not neat, but free.

Arse costs $970?. They about want your arse for it.

No, but it just strikes me as equivalent to browsing Youtube with your parents.

                    Actually I missed the Irony.

But I'm having a bad week, cat dieing and so forth, so that's my excuse.

Yes, That's true. But as Canon pointed out, We like keeping some decency on the show. When we take live calls and stuff slips up, I have to go back and edit the tapes for podcasts which takes alot of time importing/exporting. If I could find something where I could run my mixer's outputs into it and then run the output of that device into the soundcard and I could hit the button and it'll give me some whitenoise, that'll be awesome and save time on the post-production. Haveing programs on the computer might not work because the show is Live, and running in via my soundcard and that's how Nullsoft's DSP picks it up.

Tucker, I used to DJ at our school station. If someone called in and said something stupid, we just pressed a button and it would either bleep it out or skip over the recorded part. I don't remember exactly how it worked anymore. I'll go down there and see if I can find out what it was.
Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.
