Alright everybody, I know it's possible to get nintendo game music and play it on WinAMP with the proper plugin.
The question is, how can I extract SNES music and play/convert it on WinAMP?

By the way, how would I go about ripping the music form a video game? Or editing existing SPC's? I want to get rid of the engine drone from my Star Fox SPC's.

Well, you can mute sound channels with Alpha-II's SNESAmp plug-in. Just bring up the ID666 Tag box (Alt+3, or click on the "I", or etc.), go to the Extended tab, and try muting each channel until you find the right one.

I tried that. In the tracks that have the engine drone, even when you mute all 8 channels the damn sound is still there!

Even if you restart the track from the beginning? That's rather odd.

Yes... in other words the engine drone is not in any of the channels, it is somehow a background sound to the tune that cannot be turned off.

i have the same problem. but the thing is, when i block all channels, it's no longer there. when i unblock one, any one, it comes back. damnit!
use the search, that's what it's there for.

                  Oh well...

But the good thing is I found a handy little DOS utility that rips SPC music from your save-state files
