I finally found my docs of when I bought Winamp Pro .. Aug 21 2005.
Not sure how long I was using it before that.. anything much older is on drives removed from really old systems and would probably need a way to connect ide drives to even see what's on them.. or the older even.. mfm drives that are most-likely buried in my old "Archives" boxes.

I figure that it's still a great testament that it still makes brand new files I have gotten from HDTracks sound so good. And as I may have stated.. am really anxious to see what's cookin' behind that new homepage screen too.!!

ps .. that could also have been a subsequent purchase since I started getting licenses of things for clients back then as well.. but, won't easily find older dox as stated previously. So, just goin' with that for the moment. lol

Oh my Fraggle Rock... that's right.! I remember having AIM and the AOL client that ran right over DOS in GEOS. Those were the friggin' Bomb.! hehe
I don't think I'd touch an IM app these days though. Not the same Multiverse as back in those days. Though I do see some of ya sporting those add'l icons on your Avatars here..

Hey look! A thread for old timers!

This year will make 20 years I've had an account here. It's probably my oldest active online account. I login every few years when I get nostalgic and miss the old days. I spent a lot of time here as a teenager doing tech support in Winamp Technical Support along side people like DJ Egg and chatting in GD. I credit this place for my career in IT and programming.

Anyone else remember the old IRC channels we used to have setup? So many good times were had in the times before Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and so on. Just plain ole text chat with a bunch of virtual strangers. I often wonder what happened to some of the people that used to hang out there. Some names I remember off the top of my head: Matt, nemesis, sawg, Bizznatch, SLK, s1138, cheezychops, will, DrO, Henry3k56, Twilightseer, sarge, oni, neko, pixiefied, missy, ryan.

If any of you old timers are still out there, message me. I'd love to catch up. Hope you're all doing well.

Funny thing is, I'm now just about twice the age of my account, which means that this stupid forum has been a part of me (and I of it) for half my life now

Dial up was the way to go and a permanent internet connection was for companies
Now, even my lightbulbs have an internet connection.
