  • So, I've read 81 books so far this year...

Pretty much what I do all night at work is read, and I'm on my 82nd book. Will probably pick up another dozen at a friends place this week to borrow, and I just won a lot of 25 Orson Scott Card books on ebay, averaging $1.33 each (taking shipping into account as well).

081 Cursor's Fury by Jim Butcher
082 The Gray Man by Mark Greaney

Books that came from an omnibus are listed in parenthesis with the omnibus title.

Anyone familiar with any of those? If anyone likes fantasy/urban fantasy/mystery, I'd suggest the stuff by F. Paul Wilson, Jim Butcher, Kim Harrison and P. N. Elrod. For military bad-assery, pick up Mark Greaney, David Webber and Lee Child. And book 82 on the list should've been added in somewhere just before book 47, and I only now noticed it wasn't on the list... So the current book I'm actually on is Cursor's Fury. Next book is book 4 of the Codex Alera series, Captain's Fury by Jim Butcher.

For some reason, another book I have already read didn't get saved to my list. Not sure where it belongs, but:

083 Brains: A Zombie Memoir by Robin Becker

Update. On book 86. I ordered the last two Codex Alera books from amazon. They'll get here by the end of the week (amazon shipped via USPS. Retarded on their part since it's friggin slow). Wish I had books 1 and 2 in hardcover with the dust jacket. If anyone has a used book store nearby that has "Furies Of Calderon" and "Academ's Fury" (in hardcover with dustjacket) in decent shape for a cheap price, I'd be willing to pay you to buy them and ship them to me...

084 Cursor's Fury by Jim Butcher
085 Captain's Fury by Jim Butcher
086 The Wheel Of Time, Book 0: New Spring by James Oliver Rigney Jr.

I'll finish off New Spring, then move on to the last two Codex books, assuming they get in soon enough. Otherwise, I'll move on to book 1 of the Wheel of Time.

Apparently my two Codex Alera books arrived via USPS. But of course, I have to go to the fucking post office to get them in the morning. *shakes fist at Amazon* Use FexEX and UPS, damnit!

Keep updating. Glad to see that people still value books rather than just 'the internets'.

Renee reads like that - mostly "beach-reading" books - Debbie Macomber/Nora Roberts kind of stuff (I could never really enjoy that stuff). We buy and sell loads of them on amazon, rarely spending more than a penny on each (but shipping still gets us). She frequents the library and used book store too.

Personally I read so much for work, that I'm tired of reading when I get time to do my own.

Apparently I have "Cursor's Fury" on there twice.

085 The Wheel Of Time, Book 0: New Spring by Robert Jordan
086 Princeps' Fury by Jim Butcher
087 First Lord's Fury by Jim Butcher
                            088 Contact by Carl Sagan

089 The Wheel Of Time, Book 1: The Eye Of The World by Robert Jordan

The novel version of "Contact" was SOOOO much better than the movie (mind you I thought the movie was great.).
