Forum upgraded to vBulletin v5.7.2 - Post all observations etc. here

Hi everyone.

We finally got the forums upgraded to v5.7.x

Sorry for not letting you all know beforehand, but there was a major outage which prevented it.
So we took the opportunity to upgrade...

Things we've gained:
- https://
- More security
- Tabs at the top (Blogs, Articles, Groups) but with no content (Edit: Removed, for now)
- New themes
- FB Share / Tweet buttons
- A "Like" button (but should we keep it?)

Things we've lost:
- The old Winamp styled theme (not compatible)
- The Winamp favicon.ico (will hopefully be back soon)

Bugs
It says "Winamp & Shoutcast Forums" at the bottom of the home page instead of just "Winamp & Shoutcast Forums"
(must surely be an easy fix somewhere) <== Edit: Fixed

favicon.ico = the icon which shows in the browser titlebar/tab
Not sure if we'll get the old lightning bolt back or the newer one (as currently used on winamp.com)

Everything is way too big.

• The smilies are broken (see the attachment).
• There's no "go advanced" equivalent, for taking a draft quick reply into the "Post Reply" screen.
• The "last post" info popup/tooltip shows bad info (see attached).
• What's "M"? (see attached)

I don't like change. I don't like this.

edit: I can still edit this post, more than an hour later.

• Users can seemingly edit their own CTs in the User Settings area.
edit: never mind; while the field seems editable – the cursor can be placed therein – it is not.

Well.. many times when I click on something, I'll just get a white screen and sometimes will get a server error message to display. I can press F5 a couple times and the site will reappear. Try to get a screenshot next time.

Using adblock = problems.
I use Vivaldi Browser (based on Chrome). It has built-in adblocker (trackers, etc). Forum not work when enabled (also external adblocker, AdGuard do not allow to display any content).

I don't see signatures. Wanted to change it in account options (User Settings/Account). Selected proper checkbox (Show Signatures), clicked Save Changes but Forum said "Email addresses must match". If I enter my email nothing changes...So, I can not save any changes...


Please, add some Dark Mode Theme.

EDIT: Problem solved!
1. Settings works fine (probably browser autofilled email field with my name, this is why it didn't match)
2. There is Dark Theme (not so cool). I could'nt see it (see above). Using it now.

after changing the select show signature , just go back to the forum and it's there , i get the same error but i do see forum signatures after checking the box.

No, nothing happens. No Settings are saved.
EDIT: Problem solved.

Ps: I see Error 500 sometimes (F5 helps).

Sigs should be fixed.

Lightning bolt favicon.ico is back.

I think the "M" under username in top-right should say "My Profile".
Will look into it.

Slowness / blank pages (requiring F5) reported to host.

I love being able to edit my old posts. What did the earlier guy mean by CTs?

it isn’t autosubscribing u to threads by default when u post in them! I changed the setting in my profile, I assume it works now. But before this post I tried the subscribe button and it did NOT allow it, gave me an error.

glad to have this back tho.

EDIT: with this post, I am now subscribed. Also, my sig did not show with the fresh post until after I did a refresh.

I am having trouble getting my sig to display correctly. As u can see, it looks like is had extra space between the lines, when it does not. The site is making the font smaller, but is not adjusting the space. The editor also complains about there being more than 5 lines, which afaict, aren’t there. (I am familiar with phantom spaces, carriage returns, etc)

EDIT: once again, my sig did not show in the fresh post until after refreshing. Also, the refresh takes u back to the top of the screen, rather than keeping u at the part of the page u refresh from.
