For the first time in so long I am happy. For the first time in so long, I am free.

That's something I'm still waiting for. But this is no place to rant..

Anyway, this was pretty smooth story. You really can describe the environment the way I like.. I can almost see the shore and that big blue sea. Makes me wish I was there...

It's weird where inspiration hits, although this isn't the weirdest place: Work. I was sitting and thinking about being outside, anywhere, and the memory of last summer when my friends and I rented a place in Strathmere (NJ) and I went surfing at 6:30 on a Monday morning when there was no one around. It's cool how these things pop up.
I don't know if you ever saw "Stand by Me" (about the four boys who go down the RR tracks to see the dead body) or read the novella by Stephen King, but in both there's a scene where Gordie is sitting by himself and a deer walks right up next to him, and looks at him. It was that sense of utter clarity and claivoyance that I wanted. And thanks to your input, it seems I at least conveyed part of what I wanted. Thanks a lot.

I've read that story. Not sure have I seen the movie, but IMO book is always better than movie. You just can't beat human imagination. Do you have more of these stories anywhere?

The Hit was nice.. I also liked that Crazy talk. although it was a "bit" weird, but funny. I'm not too "normal" either.. Keep up the good work.

speaking of surfing on a spectrum, can anyone donate a speccy modem? i'm thinking of writing an HTML webbrowser for my ZX Spectrum. text-based, obviously.
