I like having a combination of both MP3s & CDs. I like to try some of the music on a CD in MP3 format, and if I'm sure I'll love the rest of the CD, I'll buy the CD & rip it to MP3 format. Ripping's a lot quicker for me because I'm on dialup. Even if I had broadband, I'd still buy the CDs because the quality on the high-end stereo systems is just better than MP3 burned CDs. They're supposed to be very close, but comparing 128 bit MP3 to CDs on my stereo just sounds so different at high volumes.

Rip to ogg (q 7 sounds pretty good to me) or 256 vbr for mp3 and i doubt you'd be able to tell the difference.Comment
