At present it stands at 12354 90GB+ tracks in my music database. I've weeded out crap album tracks and concentrated on Hit singles etc... I do also have some rarer 80s remixes in my database too.

The collection grows approx 1000 tracks a year its when I get chance to convert/rip and tag and import etc...

(P.S Yes I know I've replied to a spammer BUT he does indeed ask a valid question How big is yours? c'mon share!)

23,701 @ 507.26GB. Large size most likely due to DJ mixes and lots of FLAC. My 4+ stars electronic collection accounts for 258gb of that

All music all the time. For musicians and fans and critics and engineers and audiophiles and for anyone who's ever wanted to make a loud noise by strumming, blowing or hitting something.

are you implying that your music collection hasn't grown in 13 years?

Nope implying that this has been done more than once before this thread was posted

Search on music collection gives you 4 threads about this.

given the fact that i have been working for serveral radiostations since 2004 my collection has grown a bit......
and with the current vinyl revival it will be growing each week.....

Whats worse? Reviving old topics, or starting new topics that has a similar subject manner as older topics?

Different forums have different views on resurrection of dead calcified ancient zombie threads.

Based on my observations of the Winamp forum, reanimation seems to be acceptable and possibly even preferred, in the name of recycling electrons or something along those lines.

                Which is worse?
                Which is better?
                Which is cooler?
                Which is hipper?
Which will make the ladies hot AND bothered?

These are the questions that keep all of us up at night, staring at the ceiling, hoping, praying for a SIGN, some spark of divine inspiration, a signpost on the path of life....

                also

The search for the ultimate signature continues apace. I have journeyed from the peaks of Nepal to the depths of oceanic trenches. I have crossed deserts, jungles, swamps, savannas, steppes and frozen wastelands. I have consulted with seers, swamis, sages, scholars and savants. The peregrination proceeds purposefully.

I had ~ 20 000 files assembled over the course of 2 decades

But starting 3-4 years back I had trimmed it down to 15 000, while still adding new ones. As it turned out I had unbelievable amount of crap [on all of the possible accounts: of boring composition, weak vocals, too low compression quality, messed in the studio version of a mix]. But I only discovered this when I really started to listen to the music. And I still have to go through half of what I got. And I know I have too much

I mean: what sane person wants to have dozens of days of listening material? How often do such person gets to listen to some song on average? With my current amount and assuming I listen to music 8 hours a day, in theory I will need 78 days to get back to that track I just had from my Playlist Of Everything played by Winamp for me
