  • Volume control from web page load

Here's my situation, I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of how I can do this.

I use Winamp to play a broadcast stream. I am using Edcast 3 standalone to upload the stream. Therefore, I am not using DSP. I wanted to be able to mix in other audio sources that may come in so a direct connection from Winamp DSP to Edcast would not work.

I have an application that runs as a auto refreshing web page on Firefox. It reloads the page every 30 seconds. If an emergency message comes in, the web page will load with Windows Media Player 11 embedded and will auto play the message. Then it will refresh and go into a standby mode.

What I want to do is this:
    (1) When the page loads with the emergency message, I would like to have some kind of embedded activex control or whatever automatically adjust Winamp that is running on the same box to take the volume down to a low level.
    (2) When the page reloads to go back into "standby" mode that there is some kind of embedded control on that page that will restore winamp back to normal volume.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
