  • AudioRealm SAM --> Live365

    I'd like to take advantage of AudioRealm's revenue services for my station, but since they do not offer streaming services for free, my plan is to start out by using SAM to stream to Live365.

    Problem is, I'm not sure if this complies with AudioRealm's Terms and Conditions. This is the part I'm confused about:

    ---
    5. You may not make any Broadcast Programming generated by or transmitted via SAM technology or Audiorealm.com's servers available on any other Web site or in any other medium provided however, you may make Broadcast Programming that you have created available on Web sites that are Solely owned and controlled by you.
    ---

    Does this simply mean that I cannot make excerpts of my broadcast available on a Web site that is not my own? Or, since I (obviously) do not own Live365, would streaming to Live365 using SAM be a violation of AudioRealm's agreement?

    If someone out there is currently using these two services together, I would very much appreciate some information and input on this subject.

    Thanks!

    I do not think that Audiorealm will have a problem with that. I personally do not stream to Live365 servers, however I do have them relay my stream, and I don't see too much difference between the two. I do know there are plenty of other broadcasters out there who do this.

    If anyone would have a problem with this setup, I would believe it would be Live365, because you would be making money off of their bandwidth, but I have not heard of anyone getting in trouble from either one of them.

    I know IBC has stated that he uses SAM and Live365. You may want to talk to him about it. http://www.ibc-radio.com

    Hope that helps a little.

      on the other hand since SAM is the most bug infested pile of shite I have ever had the mispleasure of using you may want to skip it.

        RadioInsomnia,

        I think what they're referring to is that you can't re-broadcast material that is available on other sites without their permission... (though I could be wrong). Using Live365's streaming services won't go against that condition of the agreement.

        Send Bryan Payne at Audiorealm an email -- he'll be able to better answer your questions about the user agreement...

        Regards,

          I use WinAmp, SAM & Live365, and this does not cause any problems with either sites.

          Also SAM, is buggy, but its all how you set it up. My system can run for days without a problem. Although, at times it just needs a simple reset.
