  • Streaming Audio Encoder for Shoutcast 2

    Hi all,

I'm the developer of a streaming audio encoder called Rocket Broadcaster, and I recently added support for the Shoutcast 2 (UltraVox 2.1) protocol, meaning it's natively compatible with Shoutcast 2 now. This was probably the #1 most requested feature, so I'm happy to finally share it with you.

Rocket Broadcaster has some unique features, like being able to capture audio from other applications without having to use a virtual soundcard driver, and can also receive metadata from most radio automation suites. It supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, HE-AAC v1, and more. You can also simultaneously stream to both Icecast and Shoutcast2 servers now.

The Free Edition can stream using the Icecast and Shoutcast v1 protocols, and the v2 protocol is available in the Pro Edition. You can test out the v2 protocol in the Free Edition for 30 minutes at a time. The v2 protocol includes support for station logo artwork too.

If anyone has any suggestions or feedback on this new release, or ideas for other features you'd like to see, please let me know!

    Thanks,
    Albert
