    The draftlight one is good, they get around the memory leak that most flash players have by disconnecting, flushing the mp3 cache and then reconnecting (fades in so doesn't sound too bad).

    The only problem is that you can't use intro files with it because they repeat every few minutes - and your average listening time will be low.

    We wound up using the Wavestreaming one recommended by this site, but there are many users who will somehow see the text(I used commas as this site won't allow me to post links)- This Wavestreaming Flash Player may only be used on 'your,www,site,com'. When this happens you get a phone call and somehow it's all your fault for putting the player there. So for backup try this as it works when you chop off the /listen. pls part of your url for the stream.

    <OBJECT ID="MediaPlayer" WIDTH=320 CLASSID="CLSID:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" STANDBY="Loading Windows Media Player components..." TYPE="application/x-oleobject" style="height: 146px">
    <PARAM NAME="FileName" VALUE="http-www,yoursite,com">
    <PARAM name="ShowControls" VALUE="true">
    <param name="ShowStatusBar" value="true">
    <PARAM name="ShowDisplay" VALUE="true">
    <PARAM name="autostart" VALUE="false">

    I don't have a flash player but I have written an An Adobe Air desktop player that plays a shoutcast station (it would be simple to adapt to Flash as Air used Flash behind the scenes). A badge can easily be added to your website to allow people to download it. I've released the code under an open source license if you wanted to customise it. You can get it from:

    http://code.google.com/p/shout-on-air/
    code.google.com/p/shout-on-air

    Here re some examples:

    DapperFM
    probert.me.uk/files/DapperFM
    SlinkyFM
    probert.me.uk/files/SlinkyFM

    Hope this helps

    Lots of people come looking but not many are happy with what they find.

    When they do find something they keep it to themselves so others don't have the same technology on their sites.

    There is no fool proof flash player as it is still in its early technology and no one has cured the memory leaks hence the flash media servers with shoutcast support have been pushed out to help resolve the problems people face using mp3 and AAC.

    playerflash may be french but thats what they invented translators for, i know of many that have done it

    If the moderator has not tried to see if those work players work, then good luck to anyone who tries.
    Unfortunately we are as busy as you and as much as we would love to check everything that pops up on the internet you will need to do some work to get where your going, if we had the solution for you we would have posted it..

    Another suggestion would be to have one designed to your specification so you could try www.scriptlance.com and pay someone to create it for you.

    Good luck with your quest and i can assure you that you are not alone,

    We will look forward to you coming back and sharing your findings.

    Hmm this forum is under site design. That usually entails coding for a website.

    The 30 minutes of searching... I have tried searching and wasted hours of time on players that did not work. I'm much too busy to deal with broken players that are all over the internet. I'm sure everyone else who comes to this Shoutcast forum looking for a good player will agree their time is valuable and appreciates any input from others on what works with the Shoutcast stream. If the moderator has not tried to see if those work players work, then good luck to anyone who tries. When you're done please post up which one you used with the Shoutcast stream and whether or not they worked.

    3 scripts posted above by the moderator does not work in Firefox according to users on the 3 scripts site.

    Turnkey will cost ya 199, it may work or may not but for 199 am I going to try it... NO! Has anyone else used it? If so please post your experience.

    PlayerFlash is in another language. No Englash. How is that going to help me put in a player on a deadline?

    Come on with it people, keep posting the players you have tried, the ones you've come to come to love being ran on your website, and the ones you've come to hate. That's what I love about forums, they are for the people, by the people, and moderators just have to be annoyed by all of us ants raiding the house for techie food.

    if you press quote on the posts above you will see the links.
    Flash players are a real bone of contention due to the memory leaks the majority have as flash does not handle raw mp3 very well and does not offer AAC options.

    Here is a list of flash players i found after 30 minutes of research to get you going.

    WhooshStream Online Streaming Services, AAC Flash player, RadioBox-HD player with CMS panel, Streaming hosting

    Create, manage, and grow your internet radio station with ease - all from your browser.

    An HTML-5 audio player & video player that's easy to set up, design, configure and customize

    For business owners, remote IT support is not only a great way to save on travel costs, but a convenient way to handle a growing company.

    However if you are looking for a different option here you can stream to the flash player with the shoutcast tools or relay in AAC or MP3 and if needed do away with shoutcast if you wish and swap it for flash media.

    Here is a player with stream titles from a flash media server.

    As for creating flash player/s or tutorials you are looking in the wrong place as all we get here are people that want players and rarely people that are inputting into the industry.

    you would be better at a flash coders forum.

    I apologize Nick@ss, to be more specific, I am looking for a Flash based player for the ShoutCast stream. I do not discriminate on the where abouts of such a player. I was having difficulty getting our stream to work with several different players and had hopes that this forum would lead to finding a great player since it is a ShoutCast forum. This is obviously a Flash Player topic going on here. Does anyone else have a good player they use for free? One they pay for? One they created from scratch?

    That's what I was hoping to find in this forum. Only one player has been of mention here as it looks like links are disabled except for in the moderators post. So Nick can you help us out and repost the links Pepozzo, and PanicDJ put up for their recommended players?

    I'm also interested in learning more about what's out there that others have used that work, and any good tutorials about setting up a Flash player for the stream, as it would be nice to set one up from scratch to design it and possibly have song and track data shown from our database as the songs are streamed. But for now I think it would rock to have a few more options posted up here.

    And the answer I found for the port number for anyone trying to get their flash player to work was 80. This may or may not be of help but could be of useful info to anyone like myself who found many numbers from many forums. I assumed the number had to be 4 digits. Ours is only 2.

    Thanks!

    Lets put it this way, I don't care who or what or where the player comes from, plain and simple I just need to run the stream across multiple browsers to make people happy.

    Right now it's not showing up on my Windows 7 machine, but is showing up on IE and Firefox on an XP machine. Hopefully that will give a clue as to the issue I was having with the player not working before. Just another thing to have to worry about with a website design.

    Flash Player Needed, Wavestreaming doesn't work

    I'm trying to get the WaveStreaming code creator to work. So far when I complete the code generator, it brings me to a screen with no code generated on it. Currently we know nothing about what port number to use. Does it require a port number to work? If so how do we find out what it is? The stream is accessed directly at http://kglxlive.webster.edu/listen.pls

    Right now we have found a windows player that opens a popup of a white screen covering the website, and luckily on Macs all you have to do is give a picture a hyperlink and iTunes opens right up.

    Has anyone else gotten the WaveStreaming Flash player to work? I'm the low man on the totem pole and was told to look into this. Any help is greatly appreciated. I would love to have our site play our radio programs with just one click from the homepage.

    Thanks.
