We did the same in our website https://www.radion.site with php and javascript.
First we developed a script to fetch the artwork and playing song and artist name by simply adding the streaming url in our CMS Panel. It was a little bit change because we want to go an extra mile and stream our station with https so we can have the green lock in the browser for our users.
