You need to connect to the server with a source first. Like sc_trans on Linux or Winamp and the SHOUTcast DSP on Windows,

Hi! My source is the content folder, its a root server, i dont want to play mp3 from another machine. I have create the Playlist...
DSP is only for streaming the files to the server and from the Server to the clients, Or?
This server hat to play alone.... its a mistake?
what you mean with "connect with sc_trans first"?

Oh nice, when i use vlc to connect @ port 16000, than comes a login with User and Pass... but its only with vlc and no pass is right....

... i have testet with the dsp, your right, if i start the playing from my local pc, i can connect with vlc and the intro play, than i can hear the stream from my local machine. Thats not what the server has to do...
The server hat to play the Playlist.lst from the contentfolder...
But i think now the mistake are in playlist or path in config... i will testing...

        THX

I tested now to use other path links but nothing helps. The mistake must be in the playlist.lst or in the path. The Server only listen on my stream from my local machine, they dont starts playing the lst from the content folder... Have anyone an idea...
          Thanks

Jepp, i have now the answer... im to blind for this world
To start the Stremserver you have to start the ./sc_serv than you can stream from a client to your server (with winamp dsp Plugin etc) and to start the local playlist you have to start the sc_trans_linux too!
I red many HowTos, but no one tells that "./sc_trans_Linux" starts the local playmode (playlist.lst).
            Thanks a lot
