  • My Shoutcast works, but not with Ip?

    Hello there,

I tried to install a ShoutCast Server at my Linux system. After a while I succeeded and when I type http://localhost:8555/listen.pls I can listen to what I play at Winamp (I use Winamp with Wine as it's actually for windows and use the plugins for Shoutcast). It all works fine, but the problem is that when I type my IP Adress, the link doesn't work anymore, while localhost should be the link to your IP Adress, if I 'm correct.

I would like to redirect people to the radio, but can't do this in this way, how can I get it online, or is it already online in some way? Because I don't think that localhost will work, as this will redirect people to their own localhost, not mine.

Does the DNAS report that the stream up and public?

you most likely haven't allowed the DNAS to access the internet via the firewall on the machine.

as it is far better to use the native version of the DNAS than running it under wine (you can still run the source dsp as you are).

I believe I am having the same problem. ShoutCast won't/can't connect and WinAmp is just displaying [connecting to host]http://198.178.123.7534 and is stuck there.

Is this solution limited to Linux? The computer running ShoutCast is on Windows XP (yeah, I know!). Is that a problem?

How do I find if I have allowed DNAS to access the Internet? My stream was running fine until today, but we haven't had any new computer updates or scans or wipes or anything like that.

Where can I find the DNAS report? Is that the page at localhost:8000?

Could you explain me how I can do that? Someone else installed Linux, so I don't know a lot about how to use it in more complex ways.

Ok, I got it up and running, but when I restart my computer it stops working I think and it doesn't show up in the Shoutcast list. Why is that?

                same issue

I'm on windows having the same issue, i can listen on localhost, but once i try by IP i get address not found, port is forwarded on my router, stream is public, i'm testing in secondlife, my software in the game detects all stream info, but we don't hear anything on that end
