  • [SPLIT] DNAS 2.4.7 "Title update rejected" log spam

DrO thanks for updating the DNAS to fixed the banned issue, but i want to ask you what's this mean in my logs...since my host update Centova Cast i'm seeing a lot of that in my logs even though i don't see any errors...

WARN [ADMINCGI sid=1] Title update rejected - value not allowed

  • #2
it means just as the message says, the attempted title update was rejected. that generally happens due to inappropriate usage of punctuation at the start of the title which the DNAS will intentionally filter / block as it doesn't provide a good user experience.

without seeing a log (enabling http debugging) i cannot say why it's rejecting things in your case. so enable the debugging option (can be done via the server admin page on the 'debugging options' page and email the copy of the log to me and i'll check it (via dro at winamp [dot] com)

by the details in my earlier reply. and i've removed the partial log post that you're tried to post (which the forum spam filter blocked and didn't show anything helpful anyway).

(am posting this to close off this issue, with an email reply already being sent to ThunderRoll)

the cause of things has been determined and is related to the use of sc_trans as the source and the DNAS filtering out specific 'coming next' titles from sc_trans. there will be changes made for the next DNAS release to make it more obvious what and why is causing such log errors. so in this case, it's a non-critical error.
