I have WinAmp running with the latest version of SHOUTcast, streaming at http://80sbeats.cyberbeats.net:8000 all fine, the server can be seen at www.shoutcat.com and I can connect with client devices, but I am looking at passing to the clients the metadata of songs being played, SHOUTcast Source shows the metadata in the input tab, which obviously come from WinAmp, I just want to pass the song name, artist, album name, genre and year, which is what is showing in the input tab.

When I connect to the admin site and looks at the stream configuration xml, I don't see anything related to the metadata, I can go and edit the html file, but this is not what the clients are getting, any pointers on how to achieve the above? Any pointers will be very well appreciated.

I went and did work with sc_serv.conf file, I've added the lines currentsong?sid=# of sid, nextsong?sdi=# of sid, and played?sid=# of sid, re-started WinAmp and SHOUTcast Source, and SHOUTcast Server service, source was showing switching between version 2.3 an 1.x but could not connect, so I've went and removed the lines and re-started all, got it working again, now the weird part, the admin and stream server is showing the information, so are the clients.

I am confused because I've removed the lines.

the shoutcast server only sees one string for the current track -- that string is provided totally by the source app, more importantly the dsp -- in winamp the track title display can be changed to include the id3 tag fields you want and what to do when the source mp3 has no id3 tags. not sure if it's in the input plugin config or the general winamp config.
