  • Error [METRICS sid=1] Request failed on audience with SSL certificate problem:

    Hi,

    I have just noticed this morning that I am getting the following error:

    Error [METRICS sid=1] Request failed on audience with SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired

    I'm not sure why all of a sudden this has started being displayed
    after, running fine for months.

    FYI.
    I'm using: SHOUTcast DNAS/win64 v2.5.5.733 (Aug 24 2017)
    I have tried rebooting and restarting, but still get the above error.

    Also, I seem to be able to connect to the stream ok, but not sure
    if other listeners may be having problems connecting.

    Does anyone know why I am getting this error and how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,
    According to the error message, the SSL certificate has expired. Is this possibly the case?

    Greetings from Germany

      Hi Luca,

      Thanks for your reply.

      As far as I know, I never had an SSL certificate, in all the years I have being
      using Shoutcast server. So not sure why this message has come up now.

      FYI.
      I do not have a 'Premium' account.

      Which from the info below, seems to mention SSL certificates;

      Shoutcast Server Software introduces new features only available for "Premium" customers, click here for more information about the product.

      1- SSL CERTIFICATE:

      You'll have to get an ssl certificate and an ssl key and write both file paths in the config file as follow:

      sslcertificatefile=/path/to/your/file.crt (or .pem)

      sslcertificatekeyfile=/path/to/your/file.key

      Once it's done, do not forget to open the port 443 by adding or modifying the alternateports directive:

      alternateports=443

      To make sure the DNS is linked in the DNAS and directory, also add the following:

      destip=stream.myserver.com (example; i.e. specify officially linked DNS)
      publicip=stream.myserver.com
      So not sure why my DNAS, is now throwing this error.

        You are using version "v2.5.5.733". There is no Premium yet, right?

        As far as I know you need a SSL certificate.
        It is about whether the booked SSL certificate may have expired.

            Hi DJ Egg.

            Thanks for sorting out whatever needed fixing, as what ever you did
            has now fixed the error, and all my streams are now up and error free.

            Also big thanks for getting it fixed so quickly, much appreciated.

            All the best
            Mark
