  • Title update

    Hi there,

    I enabled title update on my Shoutcast source, but the window stays blank and on Shoutcast.com there's no 'now playing'. Can anyone tell me what's wrong???

    Is "Auto" checked next to the "Title" box?
    Also check your password. It may only contain letters Aa-Zz and numbers 0-9, nothing else (no spaces or anything else!). If you are running a DSP stacker such as MuchFX (these are used to enable more then one DSP at a time) then try running without it and see if that helps. Finally if you made changes to the .ini/.conf file other then MaxUser, PortBase, Password, AdminPassword then there is a possibility that one of those settings is causing you some problems.

      Thanx a lot,

      Your tip about MuchFX was the right one. I had it running because I wanted to combine Shoutcast and 'Rocksteady'. Do you have any idea how I can both running without MuchFX???

      Greetings, Rob

          good call

          Good call on the update problem with MuchFX. I am having trouble installing the recommended DSP Stacker, tho. What directory does it need to be installed to? It just doesn't show up in my DSP list of plugins....

            Yeah their installer is setup for SAM. You will need to find where it installed the files and move them to the plugins folder of Winamp (by default: C:/Program Files/Winamp/Plugins) and restart Winamp.

              i got my shoutcast server up and running fine, but its not sending any song title or contact information (aim/icq/irc) to listeners.

              on the server window i see my broadcaster sending the contact information to the server, but then it doesn't show up on this page:

              all the listeners see is the station title (u lose radio), which i can either set on the server or from the broadcaster.

              i've tried all kinds of things, disabling station title on the server, changing my title all around on the client, unchecking "auto" for title and url, writing stuff in there, filling out all fields, etc etc.

              can anyone think of anything that may help?

              here is my setup:
              shoutcast dnas server latest version running on winXP.
              winamp broadcaster plugin running on the SAME machine.
              this machine has 2 IPs, a dynamic IP address from a cox.net cable modem, and a static IP address for my home network.
              i specify to use the dynamic IP address in the server config file.
              changed port to 1337

              i have tried broadcasting to localhost and to my dynamic IP address, they both work but neither fixed the problem.

              thanks!

                Set your SrcIP to ANY if you changed it.

                      i've done all the above, and still have the no title problem...

                      enable title updates is checked
                      title = auto
                      URL = auto
                      srcIP = any
                      and i still have the %s in the name on the server setup
                      it says the %s allows for title transfer as well.. but it's not working

                      im confused..

                      this is the last bug im getting!

                        title format is not what you think it is. It does not do anything with the song title. Recomment that section and try again. Also it might help if you posted a link to your server.

                            i reccommented that one line, and titles show for all 2.8 users that log into my stream... but not for 2.7 users interestingly enough...

                            which is kinda confusing, but atleast the problem isn't on my end now...
